About

AuthorSigRed.png

Jenny Perry Carr is group vice president of scientific services for a medical communications company by day, budding sci-fi/fantasy/horror writer at night, which sounds much like the beginnings of a superhero’s bio. But alas, her only superpower is remembering random facts, like the human body contains trillions of microorganisms that outnumber our own cells by 10 to 1!

She has a PhD in molecular neurobiology from Yale University which influences much of her speculative writing. Along with science and technology, her interests are broad, including movies (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Fifth Element are played constantly in her household), gardening (especially hydroponics), art (photography and a multitude of crafty hobbies), and gaming (Fallout and Bioshock series are favs).

She’s a Minnesota native who lived in Connecticut for 15 years but now resides in North Dallas with her husband.

Her short stories have received silver honorable mention and honorable mentions from the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future contest. "Luck, Life, Light, and Other Frivolous Pursuits" will be published in February 2024 in the anthology Troubadours and Space Princesses through Hemelein Publications and LTUE Press. "Blood on the Wing" will be published in March 2023 in the anthology MURDERBIRDS by WonderBird Press. “Blue Serpent” was published in Dark Recesses in May 2022. “Model Citizen: A Deadly Tale of Beauty” was published in March 2021 the anthology From the Yonder Volume 2: A Collection of Horror from Around the World. She is currently working on a
sci-fi trilogy.
